DISABILITY ACCESS FUND
Disability Access Fund (DAF) is funding which is provided to Early Years settings. The funding allows settings to make reasonable adjustments to support a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
DAF is applied for by the setting on behalf of the child and their family. The child must be aged either three or four, be accessing a funded place within the nursery and be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
DAF funding has supported some of children in various ways including resources to support their learning and development, equipment to aid sensory and physical needs and smaller staff ratios, particularly on days out and nursery trips.
